About the Project

Why We Archive Springfield's Stories

Our Mission

Springfield is full of stories that deserve to be heard, and saved. Not just the headlines or the history book entries, but the personal ones. The ones told at kitchen tables, on front porches, and at local diners.

The Mosaic Project - SPI was created to make sure those stories don't disappear. We believe that every voice matters, every memory has value, and every generation owes it to the next to leave behind more than just dates and facts.

This is not just a podcast. It's a community archive. A living document of who we are, where we've been, and what Springfield means to the people who call it home.

About

Why Mosaic?

A mosaic is made of many small pieces, each one different, each one essential. Alone, they're fragments. Together, they form something beautiful and complete.

That's Springfield. Our city is built from thousands of individual stories. When we collect them, when we honor them, we see the full picture of who we are as a community.

Every story you share becomes a permanent tile in Springfield's mosaic.

How It Works

Our Process

01

Nominate

Community members submit stories and nominees through our website or in-person events.

02

Connect

Our team reaches out to learn more about the story and schedule a recording session.

03

Record

We sit down for an intimate, guided conversation—no scripts, just authentic storytelling.

04

Archive

The story is carefully edited, cataloged, and preserved as part of Springfield's permanent record.
